SUMMARY:RCAC: Back to Basics: Water Supply & Sources
DESCRIPTION:Back to Basics: Water Supply & Sources \nDate & Time: August 17\, 2022 | 10:00AM-12:00PM \nDescription: The essential mission of every water system is to provide an adequate volume of high-quality water at the lowest sustainable cost. The key words here are “adequate volume” and “high-quality.” This learning event is to provide operators\, managers and board members of small water systems with a basic knowledge of how to determine the supply requirements (in terms of both volume and quality) of their water supply and to provide a basic understanding of the two types of water sources (groundwater and surface water) commonly used by small water systems. This will include the concepts of Max Day Demand\, Peak Hour Demand\, Diurnal Demand and source reliability. There will be a focus on the supply adequacy requirements of the California Water Works Standards. This is a free training. \nParticipants will learn:  \n\nWater system demand: How much is enough?\nHigh-quality water: How clean is clean enough?\nTypes of water sources commonly seen in small systems\nSource water protection planning\n\nRecommended Audience: System managers\, new or existing water system operators\, managers and especially board members. \nLocation: This training will be hosted online on GoToTraining. \nRegistration: You must be registered prior to the date of the close of registration to receive credit. https://www.events.rcac.org/assnfe/Cart.asp?Mode=SAVENEWCRS&mlUtil_EventID=3240&mlUtil_FeeID=3076&PID= \nAccreditation: 2 California Drinking Water Contact Hours units awarded
