DESCRIPTION:EPA’s free annual drinking water workshop\, held in partnership with the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA)\, will take place on August 29 – September 1\, 2022 in the greater Cincinnati\, Ohio area. The workshop\, which will be held as a hybrid of in-person and virtual\, will provide in-depth information and training on solutions and strategies for handling small drinking water system challenges\, with a focus on monitoring\, distribution\, source\, and treatment topics. \nEPA’s free annual drinking water workshop\, held in partnership with the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA)\, will take place on August 29 – September 1\, 2022 in the greater Cincinnati\, Ohio area. The workshop\, which will be held as a hybrid of in-person and virtual\, will provide in-depth information and training on solutions and strategies for handling small drinking water system challenges\, with a focus on monitoring\, distribution\, source\, and treatment topics. \nThe workshop will being on Monday evening with networking opportunities and will end on Thursday afternoon.

Methods for providing safe drinking water vary from system to system\, but there are a handful of methods that apply to all systems. This workshop designed for operators and managers will cover the methods used by most water systems to ensure acceptable water quality. This is a free training. \nParticipants will learn:  \n\nThe techniques and importance of coliform sampling\nThe importance and methods for unidirectional flushing\nDisinfection basics\nWater storage tank cleaning and maintenance\nCross connection prevention\n\nRecommended Audience: Water system operators and managers.
