Fresno State is hosting an all day FREE Water Exchange Market Symposium, focusing on how groundmarkets work and how they may, or may not, be a good fit for Groundwater Sustainability Agencies and their stakeholders.
The Symposium will include a series of presentations and panel discussions addressing the potential features, benefits, advantages and disadvantages associated with creation of groundwater markets in California in response to Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) requirements.
At the Symposium, Leadership Counsel for Justice and Accountability, Self Help Enterprises, and Community Water Center will be hosting a panel focused on how groundwater markets could potentially impact Disadvantaged Communities. At this panel we will give an overview of groundwater markets and then residents and stakeholders will be sharing their perspectives.
