Public Workshop: Consolidation of Water Systems

Roughly 300 disadvantaged communities across California are currently receiving water from a public water system that does not meet drinking water standards. In an effort to address this issue, the State Water Board and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) are holding a joint public workshop next week to discuss proposals to consolidate water systems.

This informational workshop will provide a forum for the CPUC and State Water Board to share information and receive public comment about their respective consolidation efforts to ensure all Californians have access to clean drinking water. The workshop will include staff presentations, expert panels on the topic, public comments and discussion among State Water Board members and CPUC commissioners.
